Keratin Straightening Treatment — Aftercare & Maintenance

Have you heard anything about the Keratin Straightening Treatment?  If you have tried it, then you know how easy to manage and silky your hair is.  If you haven’t tried it, then we offer a few thoughts about what to do after you have purchased the treatment, and how to keep your gorgeous hair frizz-free and simply stunning.

To apply the treatment, all that’s needed is to infuse your hair with keratin for about half an hour, then simply iron it to lock in all of that nutritional hair goodness!  If you maintain  and take care of your locks after that, then the treatment may last for several months.

- After the smoothing therapy has been completed, you have to keep your hair dry and straight for seventy-two hours.  Do not clip any stray bits off or pull your hair into a ponytail The Keratin Straightening Treatment needs a period of time to set.

- Don’t wet your hair during this approx. three day period — you can cover your head with a waterproof shower cap when bathing.  If you’re accidentally caught in a rain shower, then get home and blow dry your hair, then iron again.  Don’t put anything else on your hair during this period as well, such as shampoo or hair gel.  You can do what you like with your hair after the initial seventy-two hours.

- If you want to change your hair color or treat it with other chemicals, do this before you use the Keratin Straightening Treatment.  If you still want to color your hair after the treatment, then wait about three weeks.  Don’t have your hair cut, by the way, until after your treatment.  It will be easier to cut and style then.

- After you have used the coppola keratin treatment, you should be aware that some hair products may actually harm your hair and scalp, rather than helping.  Avoid any sodium chloride products as these may unravel you treatment.  Hair products have been specially made for use after your coppola keratin treatment.

- Avoid salt or pool water getting on your hair by covering it with a bathing cap.  Taking care of your hair after a treatment like this will be actually quite easy.  Once you get into a routine it will be second nature and help you maintain your gorgeous and shiny new hair for months and months!

-During this initial period, it’s also wise to avid using clips, bands, eyeglasses (to hold the hair back) or bobby pins.  You can use a sift silk scarf to keep the hair back, but only for a short period.
